Base in center surrounded by wall with a mortar. Compacthouses and mines around it and all corners filled up with bunkers, turrets(make sure to place the missilelaunchers close to your mortars). Banks in outer corners to defend and block turrets from bieng attacked. Surround it all by wall. Last: Place warp gates(they can contain very expensive troops) close to your turrets so they are protected too. Thats how preference to have my base. And be sure to use all your traps!
